About James D. Garol and being Board Certified

Dr. Garol has been committed to delivering the highest quality orthodontic care, serving children and adults in the Reno-Sparks area since 1980.
Certification matters. Dr. Garol’s commitment to the profession of orthodontics, understanding, skill and knowledge of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment have been thoroughly examined and certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Garol was selected to serve as an examiner for the board in 2010. He has published and presented scientific papers on growth and development of the human face and cranium, on long-term stability of orthodontic treatment, and critiqued cutting edge research related to control of orthodontic tooth movement at the subcellular level. Dr. Garol received his Doctor of Dental Science from UCLA and his Master of Science in Dentistry from the University of Washington. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the Nevada State Society of Orthodontists and was invited to become a member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, selected as president of the Northern Component. As a charter member of the Reno Central Rotary Club Dr. Garol has been serving the community since 1983. He and his wife, Barbara, have four children, born and raised in Nevada, who are pursuing careers in the medicine and dentistry.
